A Dog’s Job is Never Done

It is tough being a dog. There are so many things that you need to take care of during the day. You need to check to make sure that all the doors and windows are protected. You need to go out and bark at all the other animals that might be passing by.

You need to make sure that all potholders are ripped into submission and destroyed so that they cannot be used again for any purpose.

IMG_5261ADeb, why is that potholder on the floor? I don’t think that is where they are supposed to be kept are they?

No, reader(s) that isn’t the normal place to keep your potholders. It is inconvenient. It is not the most clean place, at least if you are at my house anyways. And, well, if you step on it in the middle of the night as you sneak downstairs to get something to eat you might slip and break a hip or something.

This was one of my more favorite potholders. It has a lovely Christmas theme to it. It is well broken in. I even wash it once in a while. We have a relationship this potholder and I do, as well as his twin brother…..

Or at least I did have a relationship with his twin. That is until this happened.

IMG_5264  IMG_5265 I think, perhaps, that this potholder has come to the end of it’s life. It was a violent death filled with ripping and tearing and licking. I am sure if I had been home that I would have heard it’s little potholder screams as it was pulled off the counter where it was happy and content, waiting for it’s next hot assignment. And then Mr. Nimble Lips realized that it was up there and within dog reach and could be dragged off the counter and taken into his house where it could be mangled beyond redemption.

  1. Here's to remembering a life well lived in pot holder land.

Just keep your mother of the bride dress somewhere safe, ok?!

  2. And such a pretty dog--gotta love the dog.

  3. Uh oh. Callie asked me to pass along that she may or may not have a certain location for a fugitive of some sort to hang out. Readily available at the wag of a tail.

Personally, I just think she's hoping to have someone take over her goose chasing duties.

  4. How in the heck could you get mad at those sorry, chocolate eyes? Impossible.

  5. Oh but he does look awfully sorry.
