7 Quick Takes: There Might Be Yarn Involved

7_quick_takes_sm1

I saw snow this morning but I am ignoring it.

You know what to do. When you are done gathering your winter blather you need to click on the picture above to be whisked, as the speed of the Democrats rising panic, over to Conversion Diary to see what’s what.

The blather that enables.

It is a sad thing when, as you exit your garage to walk your dog, you have to check to make sure that the neighbor isn’t walking her dogs.

Her crazy dogs.

Well, just one of them is crazy. They have two dogs. The little Papillon is all cute and sweet and if she meets Max on the street they are all, “HEY, how are you doing?? Let’s sniff butts and remain friends forever!” No issues.

And then there is the other dog, also named Max by the way. That dog is a combination of who knows what. But if you did one of those dog DNA tests I am sure that he would show up with a fair amount of Tazmanian devil. Even from 100 feet away if he sees Max he will stop in his tracks for a second and then it is……

BAM! COME HERE I AM GOING TO RIP YOUR FACE OFF BUT BEFORE I DO THAT I AM GOING TO SNARL AT YOU SEVERELY AND THEN I AM GOING TO DISEMBOWEL YOU JUST BECAUSE IT IS TUESDAY AND I HATEYOUHATEYOUHATEYOUHATEYOU!

To add insult to injury my neighbor then has to literally drag the dog into the house all while smiling at me apologetically and mouthing, “I’m sorry” repeatedly. My Max just stands there and looks at me like, “What is HIS problem?”

Such fun!

Oh is this not just lovely yarn! The colorway is “Gordon Square Arts District”, named after one of the neighborhoods in Cleveland. I possess this because I might……

I possibly…..

OH FINE, I DID join River Color Studio’s Colors of Cleveland yarn club.

It arrived priority mail yesterday. I knew it was going to arrive and was all WHERE IS IT!!! when I got home. She is now hanging out with the rest of the stash for a bit while I search for just the right pattern.

Squeeeeeeeee!

As I predicted, we had no trick or treaters on Halloween.

Nada.

Zilch

Nyet!

That mean that there is candy left over. Thank goodness, in anticipation of this possible scenario, I did not buy all that much candy. And I bought something that HHBL and I are not overly wild about…..Snickers. Oh don’t get me wrong, I do like Snickers. Just not as much as I ravenously consume like say Almond Joy. That means that we will most likely eat the little nuggets eventually but it will take a while. I am just going to stick them in a bag in the freezer and pull them out every once in a while.

Believe me, we don’t need to be eating more candy at the moment what with the GIANT pile of candy and other goodies that someone put in the break room at work. Mother of all that is holy there is a boat load of candy in there.

And I might have succumbed to the package of Oreo’s that was sitting there.

But we won’t talk about that.

This is the time of year here in the Frozen Northeast Ohio where we start to move into “the glooms”. That is where we will have what feels like endless strings of totally cloudy and gloomy days possibly filled with rain or other precipitation that I choose not to name.

It is very hard on the energy level I can tell you. Today is one of those days. You know that the sun had risen in the morning but it just means that the gloom is lighter and you can actually see it. When the sun is out HHBL and I both try to get out into it to take a walk, however short. I have taken my extra pair of tennis shoes to the office so that I can walk there as well. Three times around the full parking lot equals about two miles. OR you can walk on the beautiful walking path that winds through the woods.

You have to take advantage of the sun when it makes it’s appearances around here.

I have almost completed the “annual blog reading clean out”. I hate to delete blogs that I have read over a number of years. It is like unfriending someone on FB, sort of. Perhaps it is because that is every blogger’s fear, that people will stop reading. But if you haven’t posted anything for more than 6 months of time my guess is you have lost your blogging mojo or perhaps you have just moved on to something else. It isn’t that having those non-posting blogs in my blog reader makes any difference. They just sort of progress down to the bottom and hang around there. But I like to have things neat and tidy and uncluttered and so on a yearly basis I look at what I have been reading, who has or hasn’t been posting and I make a “clean out” decision.

Also, if I am just deleting your posts without reading them because I am just not interested any longer….well.

Crazy as this sounds….I am seriously considering deleting The Pioneer Woman. I know that sounds crazy to many who read her but….the things that I loved about her blog when I started reading her many years ago seem to be lost in the commercialization. Believe me, I am a Capitalist through and through. If this is a way she makes money then more power to her. It is just that I have so many blog reading opportunities and when I am just deleting more of her posts then I am reading then I have to reconsider whether I should read her at all.

Sigh.

So the annual stealing of the ornaments is fast approaching and all I can think is….

HOW AM I GOING TO GET EVERYTHING DONE!!

December 1 is zooming towards me and I am scrambling to get my lists done and everything planned out. I would have actually scheduled the party on December 8 but we already have a party on that night, the neighborhood Christmas shindiggy, so that was a no go. We are actually going to be hanging with family in the Big Apple for Thanksgiving which means that I pretty much have to have everything done before I leave. That means the decorating and as much food prep as possible. PLUS! I can’t decorate the weekend before because we have company for the weekend AND we have our Flocks group coming over for the monthly thingy so I can’t really even bring up all the boxes until after that.

Yikes.

Instagram! Because I can, that’s why.
