Chez Knit has many windows. And several times a winter I will hear a large THUMP! as a bird, who obviously was texting and flying at the same time, flies right into a window. Normally all that remains of the incident is the memory of the sound. But occasionally a feather is left behind, stuck to my window by the force of the collision.
And very occasionally there is a bird fatality. But not this time thank goodness. It is very distressing to find a bird all limp and head down in the snow. But what is even worse is if Max the Magnificent finds it first.
