The camera is an instrument that teaches people how to see without a camera.
On our last morning walk in Tucson, as HHBL and I were striding along, I stopped dead and whipped out the iPhone to take a picture of the cactus heart that I saw on one of the ever present prickly pear cactus. First HHBL reminded me that this unscheduled stop would mess up our walking time. And then he asked the question that he always asks when I see something that he doesn't.
How did you see that?
When he asks that I am reminded of the above Dorthea Lange quote which I think is truth.
