Day 36–The Roundness of Snow

Day 36 - The Roundness of Snow

Canon 450D; Tamron 18-270 @ 219mm; ISO 400; f6.3; 1/400; VC on

Snow is such amazing stuff. We are just coming off several days of what seemed like non-stop snow. I am not sure what the total snowfall has been between last Friday and today but I am guessing that it would be in the neighborhood of 10-12 inches. Piles of the stuff.

When the temperature begins to rise a bit and the snow starts to melt the most fabulous snow shapes begin to emerge. I am just waiting for the weight of the snow on the front of the sculpture to finally pull him off his pedestal.

The snow that covered the branches of our redbud tree is slowly melting and sculpting itself into large glops, manfully clinging to the tree branches. They look like vanilla ice cream sculptures.

Suddenly I am hungry.
