OK, I am late with the post.
I know.
But you see, I got caught up in creating. And I was in the flow, in the groove.
And I just wanted to get this thing done so that I can move on to swatching and casting on another sweater.
And this is what I have finally completed.
Oh can I tell you how much I love this thing. Love, love, love.
Felted lovage.
And I have lined it with fabric that was dyed by this couple
We spent a Sunday afternoon watching the dyeing of cloth. And let me tell you, OSHA would have had a field day with all the chemicals that were flying around and being handled without protection. But this was Africa and not the US.
But having met the woman who dyed the fabric and having picked the fabric out and carted it home that just makes the lining of my new Spring purse all the more special.
Look down in the left hand corner of this picture. Do you see the fabric that is all blues and reds and purples and greens.
That is my fabric. And boy do I have A LOT of it.
I added pockets for the ipod and the phone. Also a nice heavy duty magnetic snap. I also lined the straps but I was having a bit of trouble with my sewing machine at that point. More specifically with my needle which gave up the ghost with a giant CRACK about half way through so the lining on the straps have some “issues”. But I can live with it.
Cuz once I put my stuff in this purse then it is going into action and I am not sewing on it any more.
I am so excited!!!
Don’t you just love it when a project turns out.
I'm totally jealous of your new purse and obsessively want one for myself. lol!
ReplyDeleteYour knitting is fantastic, but I love the lining, not just for the amazing colors, but for the smile that will come to your face every time you open the purse and look in it. That's so very cool.
ReplyDeleteOMG that purse is AWESOME! Seriously awesome. I love the pictures of the dyeing of the fabric which makes the whole thing even better
