OK, maybe not today. It is warm but there is very little sun. In fact we might just get some rain.
But, it is the time of year when my favorite fruit is available…..
Oh look at them, all spread out on the counter. They aren’t quite ripe, just a couple of days and then they will be perfect. So until that time they have to be spread out on my counter, taunting me with the smell and the promise.
Peach juice running down my chin.
Is there anything better?
Oh fine, I did manage to find one peach that was almost ripe. So close that I just couldn’t stand it.
I had to have it.
There was no stopping me.
But having a peach reminds me of this song. So enjoy. And then go out and get some peaches. And in a few days we will talk about things like peach jam, peach/blueberry jam, peach cobbler, peach chutney…….
I am drooling.
Ooooh, my mouth is watering!!
ReplyDeleteOhhhh, Once upon a time (like 7 years ago) we lived close to a roadside stand called the Peach Pit. Peaches ripe from the tree. It was glorious. Now we live where peaches have to be trucked in 1800 miles. It will never be the same. And I am going to my room now to cry.
ReplyDeleteI could not figure out where that song was going and how it could possibly include peaches! hehehe, take care of my hair brush!
ReplyDeleteYour photos are so deliciously bright. Their soft orange color is so beautiful!
Yum! I'm salivating! A good friend has a very prolific peach tree in her yard and has offered to give some to us because they can't eat them all--I hope she comes through!
ReplyDeleteThat song is going to be stuck in my head for days!
ReplyDeleteI can't even remember the last time I had a peach. But I will get some in honor of you.
