Well, it is the first Monday of December.
And it is 61F outside at the moment which makes it a bit difficult to get into the holiday spirit when I really feel like I should go out and plant something in the garden.
It may be warm as Springtime outside but inside all is a flurry of activity because tonight is……
The Annual Orgy of Stealing Ornament Exchange.
The Advent calendar that Grandma Amsler made me all those years ago is hanging in it’s place.
The Santa’s have overtaken the dining room in a bid to out HO HO HO the Snowmen…..
Who are, as usual, overflowing the mantle piece, accompanied this year by Archibald.
Handicapped Baby Jesus and the rest of the Oberammergau crèche are happily unwrapped in the Sun room.
And the jewelry Christmas Tree is lit up for the season.
And that means…….
That I am ready……
To show you the ornament for this year. I actually had thought to take individual pictures of all the ornaments over the years. And perhaps I will, but it is not THIS day. This day I cook!
Hmmmm, I might be in too much anticipation of the opening of The Hobbit
Ummmmm, I think I wandered off the track for a minute. But remember, all who wander are not lost.
STOP IT DEB!
Sorry. Back to the purpose. The ornament.
So here he is. And if you are actually going to BE at the party tonight you need to stop right now. Just know that the ornament is cute, cute, cute. But you must wait.

Too cute if I do say so myself!!! Is it strange that when I look at these ornaments I just get all giggly and excited because they are so cute?
Never mind, I don’t want to know.
Very proud of myself for the great restraint it took to not "peek" before the party / but it was worth the wait!!! I treasure my hand made ornaments - what a great time tonight! If only I had restrained myself a bit on the food / oh my tummy is full!!!
ReplyDeleteI do believe a great time was had by all last night ... as usual. Thank you again Debbie for a great evening!
ReplyDeleteAlso, the next time you take a picture of your snowmen on the mantle, keep in mind that the reflection of your 2nd floor railing lights would make an awesome new mustache on the portrait! Tee hee.
(Oh, and by the way, I DID resist the temptation to peek at the picture of your ornament in advance; though it was hard. And yes, it's adorable!!)
