I am LATELATELATE with these this week. Let’s go over the rules shall we. When you are done rolling around in the waist deep blather here you will need to click on the picture above to be whisked, at the speed of everyone’s rapidly decreasing holiday cheer, over to Conversion Diary to see what has happened this week.
I’m dreaming of someone blather……. (Sung to the tune of White Christmas)
1.
Let’s get the griping out of the way shall we. The one thing that I DON’T like about the holiday season?
People seem to be much grumpier. And it always takes me by surprise.
Today I witnessed a nicely dressed, white haired little old lady……..
Calling someone else in the parking lot an, “F-ing A-hole!”
Well Merry Christmas to you too Ma’am!
2.
According to one of my neighbors, the local black bear destroyed two of her bird feeders and the metal poles they were hanging from.
Great.
Annette doesn’t live on my street. Her house is actually a mile away if you walked it. BUT if you just cut through the woods she is much, much closer than a mile. It would just be a Sunday stroll for the bear to hike it over to Chez Knit.
Come on Mr. Bear!!! Wander over here so I can get a nice, clear picture of you in my yard or woods or garden.
3.
I am a creature who doesn’t always like change. These last few years have been full of change. I am coping well most of the time.
But today!!! Grrrrrrrr.
Today when I opened up Fire Fox (my browser of choice) my Yahoo Tool bar, where I have all the “apps” that I use most frequently arranged just how I like them……
Was gone! Again!
This happens periodically when Fire Fox has a update and then doesn’t play nicely with Yahoo for a while. But when this happens it totally caflumoxes me. I cannot find things. I have to reconstruct things.
Yes, I know you are shaking your head and wondering why I am getting my panties in a wad about this. It is just the last “change” straw for me I guess.
But I am trying to turn it into a positive. For a long time I didn’t have my “Bookmarks Toolbar” visible because it took up too much room on my small laptop screen. But now with the nice big screen on the new computer I can rearrange things a bit. And I am taking the time to clean out all my bookmarks that I don’t ever look at.
Lets just hope that I don’t delete something that I am REALLY going to need.

Still not missing cable. Thought you might want to know that. I really did anticipate having a harder time but so far so good.
Of course I am going to have to watch A Christmas Story on DVD rather than TBS “24 Hours of A Christmas Story”.
That is if I can FIND our DVD of A Christmas Story which seems to have gone missing…..or perhaps it is residing at the home of one of the progeny and should be RETURNED.
I’m just saying.

I am making progress with the Christmas shopping. I just wish that all the other people who are out shopping would stop it and go home so that I can have my roads and parking spaces back.
I found myself circling the parking lot in front of Trader Joe’s, trying to find a spot, ANY SPOT and talking on the cell phone at the same time.
Not a good scenario.
Of course I wouldn’t have been in that predicament if I hadn’t dithered about whether I was going to buy a certain item at a certain store or order it on line. I looked at it but didn’t buy it thinking I might be able to get it at another store….which didn’t have it at their location but could get it at their other location but they couldn’t guarantee that it would get there by Christmas (how HARD is it to send a item 10 miles from one store to the other???). So I went back to the original store that I had been at earlier to buy the item that I could have bought earlier BUT by that time it was 12:45p and everyone else was out shopping and the half filled parking lot was now completely filled with people circling like vultures waiting for something to die.
I am a blooming idiot.
6.
I cannot tell you how much will power it took for me to restrain myself from buying this.
It was a vicious struggle waged in the check out line. I overcame my inner pre-pubescent boy and didn’t get it…..
For now.
7.
The Progeny and I are anticipating the Christmas Day opening of Les Miserables. And just to get the appetite wetted lets end these Quick Takes with the cutest Les Miz/Wedding party video. I cannot tell you how many times I have watched this in the last 24 hours.
My sister bought me the book "What's Your Poo Telling You" for Christmas one year. i may break down and buy her the calendar!!!
ReplyDeleteI got nailed by the Firefox update, too. Why do they do such frequent updates? And I also have that same reaction (#5)-- why are all these people out trying to shop at the same time as me? what is WRONG WITH THEM? ha. although I have to point out that at least you HAVE a Trader Joe's to circle the parking lot in. Our closest one is a 4 hour drive away.
ReplyDeleteAs I am sure that you are already aware, I am NOT the daughter who has pilfered all of your DVDs. Just sayin'.
