4th of July

Did you have a good 4th of July?

Did you have fun?

Did you overeat and sweat and shoot off fire works?

We did some of those things….but not others.

It was actually a relatively quiet day here at Chez Knit. HHBL had me on the bike early for a 13 mile ride. We did The Blueberry Hill of Exquisite Pain with the Chapped Buns Extension.

I was huffing and puffing. It wasn’t pretty. And then HHBL said…

You know, I think you need to put your seat up a bit.

Um yes that might be the case. A whole inch I put that thing up. And VOILA! No more looking like Elmira Gulch.

You know….

The rest of the day was actually fairly quiet. I had to make a quick trip to the market. And WHY were all those people there! One would think that food shopping for the 4th of July would have been done before the actual day. Just because I had to go to get stuff for dinner didn’t mean that others couldn’t be more organized. Yeesh!

Then Shoe Queen and I indulged in several hours of intense watching of “Hoarders”.

Don’t judge!

And then it was off to Blossom Music Center with multiple thousands of our closest friends for food and music and fireworks.

We were not alone.

This little lady was just the cutest thing. Her head was bobbling and her toes (in her orthopedic shoes and hose) were tapping to the sounds of Sousa.

Doesn’t everyone spend time “air directing” the orchestra when they play “Stars and Stripes Forever”.

No?

Ahhhhhhh. Food. Music. Fire works.

It was a good night.

  4. What a nice holiday you had - looks like it was fun. We drove almost 1000 miles over the three day weekend with the camper, the puppy and a trailer full of gear to compete in a family BBQ and celebrate a 90th birthday. We didn't even have a chance to taste any of the food - too busy. Now we are near dead with exhaustion - but - Tramp 1 won - he is now "Top Boar"! Yeah - now we have to do it again next year to defend the title...
