The time has come.
The end is near.
The boy who lived, come to die.
It will all end tonight and I will be there at midnight to see it.
I know, I know. I said the LAST time that I wouldn’t go to another midnight show.
I lied. Sorry.
I don’t do midnight very well. Ask HHBL if you don’t believe me. If I could I would get in bed at 9p I would. And there have been occasions when I HAVE. My college roomie and I used to go to bed at 8:30p. We were SUCH party animals were Susan and I.
But I just have to go to the midnight show. I don’t have any choice. It must be done. Harry and I have walked through midnight shows together since Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban and I don’t think I want to stop now. It just wouldn’t seem right some how.
If I didn’t go it would be like quitting the Boston Marathon when you are winning and 1o feet from the finish line.
Like throwing up your hands and saying, “I’m done!” when the goal is just in sight.
Like making it all the way through school and then failing the final exam.
I might have strayed into the realm of exaggeration there but you know what I mean.
Last November I went to see Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Prt 1 with those crazy women from Tri-County Knitaholics.
Women who play with pointy sticks are a wild and raucous bunch I can tell you.
And this time I will be attending with my usual bunch, Shoe Queen and her friends. And we will be dragging LookLeap along with us.
Our tickets were purchased 6 weeks ago. My popcorn is all popped and ready to go (don’t tell anyone that I am bringing my own food). We plan on watching Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince this afternoon and the Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Prt 1 starting at 6:30p so that we can be ready for midnight.
We aren’t obsessed or anything.
I will tell you all about what happens…
later….
when I recover and get some sleep…..
Next Thursday should just about do it.
I'm still a lame party animal...would love to nap in the afternoon AND go to bed by 9pm. By the way, Katie and Kelsey will be heading to HP at midnight too. They re-watched the others yesterday afternoon, so they are ready to go. They are also dressing up. Proof that you have to grow older...you don't necessarily have to entirely grow up :). True this.
ReplyDeleteI AM SO JEALOUS!!!!
ReplyDeleteWe always see it opening weekend and this time we have a ton of family in town for various events and I DON'T HAVE A BABYSITTER! Darn that Peanut.
May I also say that I cannot wait to show B those pictures and the one with you and the owl is going to make me giggle all day long.
