Egads how can it be Friday already??? The days just fly by. So remember what you have to do. After reading my blathering you need to click on the picture above to be whisked, with the speed of Navy Seals repelling from helicopters, over to Conversion Diary to see what everyone else is doing.
Onto the blathering.
So Window Live Writer, with which I do all my blogging, has had an update and now I am totally befuzzled as to where everything is!! So many options. Everything is in a different place. My pour little brain just doesn’t know what to do.
But I am up to the task. As long as I have had enough coffee that is. But I just haven’t had enough coffee yet to navigate all the options.
My poor old 51 year old body is weary from working out in the garden. Not the big garden mind you, LookLeap and I can’t get out there at the moment because of all the rain. No I mean all the gardening that goes on here at Chez Knit. There is always TONS to do during the spring and summer. We had a sunny day yesterday with totally blue sky so I took advantage of that to get out and weed and move a plant or two. I have A LOT of transplanting to do ASAP as this year HHBL has said that I can have someone come and do the Spring Cleanup, edge the beds and spread the mulch.
I hate edging beds with a passion that borders on what I feel for Liver and Onions.
But that means that I need to get plants moved around before they come next week. Hostas in one place need to go into another place so that I can move all the Ostrich Ferns that I have coming up in inconvenient places.
Like I said there is always something to do. And when I was 40 and started all these gardens and beds my body didn’t scream at me so much when the gardening season came around.
The Pansies have been planted. Now Spring can officially begin. I know, I know, why plant Pansies as they don’t last all that long and when the weather gets the least bit warm they bolt like old people going to Florida in September.
Because for all my growing up years my Grandpa and Grandma Pringle planted Pansies every Spring and let me pick a few to take home with me.
The only man I ever knew who gardened in a shirt and tie. And a sweater.
You know, for the most part the check out clerks at my Walmart are a really nice bunch.
For the most part.
There was that checker that blew her nose and then went right on handling my purchases. Grossed me out no end but she was still nice. And there is Miss Janet whom I just love.
But this week I encountered what I have to say was the rudest checker I have ever encountered there. A man by the way. He wears latex exam gloves when he is checking out your purchase, he doesn’t talk to you AT ALL or respond when you chat with him. He wouldn’t even lean a bit to the left to move purchases down towards the cash register. He just stood there and then said to the woman in front of me who was checking out…
I am not reaching over for those. You will have to move them down.
Well alrighty then.
And when I walked away without one of my bags he called me back, slammed the bag into my hands, rolled his eyes and turned his back on me.
I am sorry but I have to say this. I have to get it out because I so didn’t express it to him even though I wanted to……..
There, now I feel better.
Tomorrow is the Kentucky Derby! Hurrah!
I watch every year. I know, I am a nerd.
I have no idea this year who the favorites are. I have just been too busy to look all of that up. I do know that they have a full field of 20 horses but that is about it.
Really for me May is an exciting sports month. We have the Kentucky Derby. And then there is the Indianapolis 500.
And the Cleveland Indians! Oh my word they are in First Place……at the moment that is. So I will just enjoy it while I can.
Yesterday was a totally sunny day. Not a cloud in the sky.
And after SIXTEEN straight days of rain and drizzle that was really something. I was out all afternoon just digging in the garden beds and enjoying the sun.
But of course today there are clouds and rain is predicted for later.
Just remind me of all my rain whining later in the summer when it is hot and sunny and we have no rain.
I am never satisfied weather wise.
You are the best mom in the whole, wide world!
