Don’t Judge Me

I am a nervous cleaner. You might not know that about me. And sometimes you might not even realize it if you came into my house and saw the dog hair elephants and the stuff on the counter. Total chaos reigns!

And I am also an organized person. I just am.

And so, what happens when I have a “nervous” day (darn it why can’t I have election data earlier than 8p!) and I need to blow off some steam?

Well usually I reorganize and clean something. Or clean out something. Then I feel better and I go on to lead my normal, oddly skewed life.

But my house is clean (mostly). And my closets are organized. And half of my possessions are already packed in boxes as we try to sell Chez Knit. And all the beds are made. So I was reduced to inventorying my sock yarn stash.

And actually cleaning my refrigerator. I am not sure how long that container of homemade chicken stock had been hanging out in the back of the frig.

But it was a LONG time.

And I only have enough yarn to do 17 pairs of socks which doesn’t seem nearly enough. Perhaps that is what has been making me so nervous today.

I need to buy more sock yarn!

  1. I'm a nervous cleaner too! You can tell when I'm feeling pretty content because the house tends to get piles building up around the edges. One good anxiety attack can get the house (and yard sometimes) spotless!

  2. Me too! I have my limit on dirt and clutter but there's a lot of leeway between here and there.

I think buying more yarn would make you feel so much better.

  3. I guess I only clean out closets when I'm mad at my husband. We have a good marriage... as you can tell from my closets.
