I KNEW you would want the spreadsheet.

I agree that our association of summer and reading can be directly tied to the cottage. There really wasn't much else to do other than read, hang in the water or play a game. We didn't have a TV and even if we had the parental units wouldn't have let us watch it. The frustrating thing was that you guys didn't get up nearly as early as we did!!Debbiehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11326484192966920116noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8820369028684428764.post-77884655236064233662012-07-13T17:58:56.553-04:002012-07-13T17:58:56.553-04:00and p.s., even though we are on opposite sides of ...and p.s., even though we are on opposite sides of the political fence, I am totally with you on the political ads. can't. stand. them. Switch the radio station, turn off the television, flip the newspaper page. Also completely avoid the editorials and opinions page during election season. Wish we could just fast forward to November and get it over with. I think everyone already knows who they're going to vote for anyway.BarbNhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12088366782915923507noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8820369028684428764.post-23286281738905013962012-07-13T17:56:57.136-04:002012-07-13T17:56:57.136-04:00oh, Debbie, we are truly sisters of the heart. A ...oh, Debbie, we are truly sisters of the heart. A SPREADSHEET OF 1,000 NOVELS?? I must have it. I will e-mail you so you can just reply and attach it. I am practically quivering with anticipation. Haven't read Adam Bede, but I did read Middlemarch once upon a time, loved it, but I was younger then and had more patience. At least Bede is (I'm pretty sure) shorter.

I think our association of summer and reading goes right back to the cottage. I have many memories of lying on that old gray-blue velvet couch and reading away the afternoon. There was a book of ghost stories that I read there that was deliciously chilling, but I have never before or since found ghost stories that I both liked and found scary (usually the two are mutually exclusive). Wish I could remember the name of it, but those brain cells are long gone. Enjoy LOTR, I'm working on my thesis or I'd join you.BarbNhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12088366782915923507noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8820369028684428764.post-88523873480027683212012-07-13T12:18:49.610-04:002012-07-13T12:18:49.610-04:00I LOVE that soundtrack.
